New zealand of course are pretty neat as the All Blacks and competent as the black caps but ever since australia left, their region is about as competitive as a geriatric at the olympics against that bolt guy.

People have Spain as the favourites for this cup and the big one itself. Now i know enough to realise that there things can be dodgy at best and much like the new zealand rugby team that i alluded to earlier, they seem to be hitting form a bit too early for the main one. Sure they haven't lost a match since Adam was in his nappies but still. The champions of the world are never that easily decided. There are motions to go through.

It will be interesting though. Have to go but that's the truth

Eduardo's test begins now

So after coming from injury and the euphoria of Monday's brace against Cardiff to send the gunners through to the next round of the FA Cup Eduardo's real test comes now.

He was running in adrenaline and ws a kid with soccer boots once again but now he is going to have to deal with the ugly nature of footie in the real world. That will be the game in its traditionally dogged nature. The grime and ugly business that comes with picking yourself up for every match and performing even on nights when you are not feeling your best. Yes even performers can be out of it but the idea is in how to do it when you are not in the mood. And still make it look good.

That is where Eduardo is right now. Picking himself up from the first game and turning it into his work ethic. Of course the philosophy is that he will appreciate every game he plays cause he almost lost his career altogether.

It aint that easy but Gooners all over the world will hope that he will fire Arsenal into the top two or four this season. We all know they need the boost

the end of the season?

Arsenal's season may have crocked now for sure with the injury to captain Cesc Fabregas. It was something that was in denial for a bit and a half but it is over now. It's completely shot up. The season is gone.

With Fabregas Arsenal are good bordering on brilliant. Without him they are average knocking on . ok. It is that simple Cesc Fabregas is the genius who makes things happen at the Arsenal. He puts the hard work in and also puts in those incredible passes. That is what makes the man.

And now Arsenal without him will suddenly go through an even rougher patch.

While I am an optimist on most days I am not so confident right now. Too many injuries and Arsene doesnt look like he is to interested in buying so we are screwed. Unless some ace up his sleeve is waiting to shock the system.

Ramsey maybe? Yes they have made him substantive, yes permanent captain at the age of 21.

Well you have to say that Wenger wasn't exactly spoilt for choice in that department. It was either Fabregas or Fabregas really. The other names were never in there. I think to an extent Gallas was keeping the seat warm for Cesc. And well the seat isnt warm, it's bloody hot.

It's Chelsea this weekend and it is not a good time to go to the Bridge. Fabregas reckons we can get a win there but I think he is one of the few optimistic ones. I think Arsenal can get back into this race if they find the consistency that has been eluding them. It is one hell of an ask right now but there is no team lighting up the blue touchpaper at present so why not.

Hail the year of the Fabregas. A new era, a new captain... Now for the trophies young man.

On another note Arsenal have finally gotten themselves a CEO, not that there were many of those lying about with the crisis that has been going on. Ivan Gazidis is his name. There is a bit about him on wikipedia. So far he has made the right noises by saying he has no plans to Disneyfy the club as he calls it. We wait and see. Mind you he is not really American is he? Which makes it a return to England for man who considers himself a british lad really.

So we see what happens there

Arsenal hit back - hard

After the embarrassment of the little Craven Cottage affair Arsenal's lads came back strongly last night and beat up Ajax and Cos poor cousins at the Emirates in a public execution.

Let's face it, Twente never really had a chance and judging from the goals from Bendtner*, young Theo* and that lad Sami* as well that bloke Gallas there was never really a chance of Arsenal bowing out.

Twente are an awful team coached by a third grade english manager. What else can you expect. He was responsible for the quiet summer that the English fans have just had while the continent was buzzing with activity. He should drawn and quartered but given how horrible Twente are on paper even, they deserve each other.

Thsi weekend's match against Newcastle will be a huge one though. They have to win that match or else they will have two weeks of limbo.

Mind if you Zimbabwe can exist in limbo why can't they?

On another note, Liverpool did look a bit sad yesterday being pushed to all types of boundaries by those lads from Belgium. After a summer of no love from Adebayor he insults the fans by kissing the badge after the penalty kick. Don't get me wrong, I want the idiot to stay and score bags of goals cause at this point he can only get better. I just didn't think this was the time and he is best served doing the talking with his footie.

Samir Nasri and just about everyone else with a mic is claiming loyalty to the club. Derby who already been confirmed relegated simply were not good enough. In effect they were awful.

Arsenal walked the ball about and nothing happened. They could have scored a world record if they wanted to but to what end. I think they just wanted to keep it respectable and at, there was no need to go for the sixer until the Zambian-Welsh boy scored. After that there was need to put the distance between the Arsenal and their opponents.

That said the poor thing about Arsenal was a lack of professionalism from some of the players. I felt players like Walcott could have done their cause a little better with more concentration and that sort of thing. They could have scored more and they could have done more. Sure his goal - that is Walcott - was very good at the end of it all but there were simpler chances he could have buried earlier but chose not to.

And that my friends is the reason why Arsenal are trophy-less for another season.

Eduardo

Poor chap is alive still and hoping he doesnt get an infection in as far as his injury is concerned. I am told that he will be out for at least nine months which is about the amount of time it will take for a baby to be born. \

The sad thing though is to do with the fact that the bloke who's gone and put him out of the Euros is going to be back playing footie soon. He has the same level of punishment as that of a last man tug on someone's shirt. It is a bit ridiculous. There should be investigations after matches to determine how bad the tackle was. Sure it was an accidental clash that broke his leg but it is as a result of the reckless challenges coming into the game nowadays and the system should stamp them out. That having been said I am sure the Taylor lad feels bad enough already

As for Eduardo... It is all a bit tragic is it not?

But Arsenal needed a loss now, not three weeks from now or worse yet in March. Of course it is never good to lose buit if there is a good time to lose it is when you are through to the next round of the competition. I think with this side, it will not mjatter whether they get Barcelona or one of the second tier teams that have sneaked through into the area occupied by the big boys.

Having said that though, I hated the loss

Powered by ScribeFire.

The Arsenal just a tad too good for everyone right now

Arsenal score an incredible amount of goals in the last 15 minutes. Some minor chink in the armour, some indiscretion will always make you human after all. You see, the rule is there must always be some failing, some thing or things that humbles you.

Much has been said about how good Fabregas is right now and I dare ask the question that scares me the most, how good will he eventually be?

In light of the first paragraph I am not sure that I want to explore it too much but there are a few examples of players who had so such striking ability that you never really wanted to know where they would take it to next.

George Best was the best(pun totally intended) of his generation by a country mile and he won accolades and prizes from all and sundry when he played for the Man Utd side of the 60s and 70s. And then at what would be considered by convention to be the peak of his career, he just picked up his bags and left. Just up and left. No explanations, just gone.

Thierry Henry lit up Highbury and when all seemed to be suddenly his, he divorced his wife and toddled off sunny Barcelona where a certain Argentinian lad is stealing his thunder.

Michael Owen was the Greaves of his generation, scoring for fun, then Achilles injuries determined his future in footie. Now they patch him up for the next time he will make a 3 minute substitute appearance

Then there is away from football, Jonny Wilkinson, the flyhalf who kicked the drop-goal at the world cup in 2003 in a fairy tale style. Since then England have sucked like a prostitute Amsterdam and the Wilko has had every injury in the book and has been the subject of a new study for injuries that were never thought possible. He is limping around the world cup right now and he is doing the dirty work and winning matches but you know that it is not the same mercurial Wilko of Aussie 2003.

So where does Fabregas go next? You can't ask him to slow down because that is a bit weird but at what point is he going to be the shadow of his former self.

I hope never but Mother Nature might have other ideas

Powered by ScribeFire.

How much longer? and Mr Usmanov

It must be said first and foremost, that I care very little for who owns the club because that is a matter best left to Londoners and those who live in the north London area to be precise. It is their team and they are best place to provide all the arguments for the issue.

It is my candid view however that Arsenal may need to keep a leash on the chairman who says a lot of things that the club might need to climb down from. When Usmanov bought shares in the club they might have been better off not saying anything altogether but rather engaging the Russian in private. From what I have heard about him, the noise has not been too good so perhaps the best thing to do with him would be to keep quiet or else you are liable to lose anyway.

Unless of course the noise is meant to push the price up and the lot want to sell anyway

But that's that.

The team is playing really well. Kicking the pub team last night was not much of a feat, but it was 3 points and much like Zimbabwe cricket team these are not kids anymore. They have a lot of games under their belts and the only thing young about them is that some of them can't have a pint in USA.

But how long will this run go? Is it worth debating? No because they could lose against Sunderland this weekend and in the grand scheme of things it might mean nothing... Or mean everything. But it is sport, everything it is meant to be enjoyed and for now we will celebrate the form of this young side.

Powered by ScribeFire.

Super-kids do the business again

The whole world is falling over themselves as they try to get to the front of the queue in giving the latest accolades to the young Arsenal juggernaut. So sometimes I wonder what I could say that is different from everyone else... Top of the league, through to the next round, good start in... got this, got that.

There is a sense of belief in this young side that is a bit scary. You can see it in their eyes. They want to dominate, they love winning and they treat opposition teams like prey. They are smashing goals from way out... If Ghandi aka Henry was around they would be passing those but they are firing them in from way out now. It takes belief to do that and it seems they have bags of that.

Having come to that realisation, you wonder when they could just lose it all, not at a whim but by a sudden and catastrophic loss of confidence. what then? Will they believe that the next loss, perhaps the 28th of October against Liverpool is just a minor blip on the radar or will they validate it? I think they will ride the wave but you can't help but wonder.

As for Ghandi, he has turned into the latest rent-a-quote when it comes to the young lads but I will take my hat off to him. he says all the right things and on the whole he has been very respectful of the team save for those misfired shots about the board messing about when they kicked out Dein.

You can read what he had to say here

My quotable from that Article is...

It is their Arsenal now and it is up to them to win stuff - and with the team they have, I do not know why they wouldn't

Now now Ghandi, you can stop drooling

Two specials... one leaving, one stamps authority

Jose Mourinho is a special manager and not just because he says so but because of his achievements at Porto Chelsea. He won those championships in his own way and showed that he was a man of substance when upon being asked to do things in a way that wasnt he his, did the honourable thing and quit. But that is that and I sort of fear for Chelsea a little. They have missed the trick here and they are going to be the Real Madrid of Perez.

Away from them, a super performance from Arsenal, a club said to have been in so much turmoil this summer it was even suggested they would be battling for mid-table mediocrity this season. What with captain Ghandi gone and all meaning the team wouldn't score to save their lives in a brothel.

Last night Sevilla side fancied for some unfathomable reason as being Champions' league contenders in spite of thjis being their debut, the Arsenal youngsters put together the perfect show. I dont think I will mention any particular player by name but the whole lot of them put on a show worthy of the Emirates. A royal and special performance indeed.

The only question I would be asking now would be How would you be feeling if you were Cashley Cow right now?

Powered by ScribeFire.

The Wenger Deal

I found it laughable that people were even suggesting that wily Frenchman was on his way out. They could easily have had a cvouple of 3-0s and walked around feeling good about themselves. They have played two teams who played the way that teams often did against Arsenal.

The boys needed to know whether they were over the way they played last year. Often they shied away from the hard games and that sort of thing but this season they have shown that they can be patient enough and that their players are willing to come to the party even in an unfashionable game.

I thought that full backs played really well against Sparta and that was important. Will Fabregas score more goals this season? Maybe. He would have missed that chance last season. But then again he scored in the early part of the season and couldn't score in a brothel in Amsterdam the rest of the season.

It is important for the internationals to do the job home and away this season.

Do I think they can win the league. Unfortunately I choose not to think about that one.

Are they better than they were last year... Definitely

The way of the Arsenal

The Arsenal is a team that thrives on everyone thinking that have lost it and that they have no way of getting what they want.

A few years ago Arsene once said that the team could go through a season unbeaten. Everyone had a laugh when he was beaten after 30 games. Then he did it, because he had a single-minded approach to getting things done. Arsene knows what he wants and he knows how to get it even if it makes him the loneliest man in the world in that opinion.

That is one thing that has galvanised this side and made them into a super team.

The malarkeys of the lot at news and newsingtons want to demote the side to just a top half of the table team, just able to beat a pub team on penalties. Not over Arsene's dead body even. Arsenal is an institution and it will profit for many years from the hard work already put in.

RvP looks hungry; Hleb, Rosicky and Diaby look tenacious; Fabregas is a class act with a thirst for success... Gallas, Toure, Gilberto and da Silva are warriors... In effect the team has the right blend to turn it into the way.. the Arsenal way...

After all the noise

So then we were going to sell the club to some bloke for a couple for a meal ticket and shoe polish the other day. Absolutely nothing I didn't know.

I know that Arsene Wenger knows what he is doing. I know that van Persie is a phenomenal player... According to the stats at least and if he can get 10-15 goals in his first season then why not?

But it feels good to have something coming in and the good news that Cesc is not interested in Real and Barca which makes a lot of sense for me. And he has a real shot at that.

But I will say once again, way-to-go Arsene.

Wenger, Wenger, Wenger

There is a lot of speculation doing the rounds saying le Boss will be leaving the club unless David Dein is back. Well that would be disappointing and would show a lack of ambition on his part.

Look at it this way, if your boss was fired for under-handed dealing, and you had a clear path to his position, would you really think of leaving just because your boss is not there?

And I dont think Arsene is that dumb. All that trash about Henry leaving being another push factor. I am sure that Arsene has worked with a few players in his life and that he can work with a lot more of them.

So what do I say? It's all a bunch of codswallop and whoever is going around wrting these articles ought to be shot.

Just like that Barca suit who is going around gloating over the signing of Henry which sounds a bit ridiculous and lacks class on whatever level you look at it from.

But then again... who cares. He was a gentleman and in the invincibles team, he was a star who thrilled and amazed many fans and not just the Arsenal fans. We loved him and we will always have a special place for him in our hearts.

But as I said he was an integral part of the invincibles and that cast a huge pall over the next version of the Arsenal. While Vieira was able to go through teh different phases, Henry and his narcissist attitiude was eventually no good for the team. He complained too much, sulked too much, and generally did all the things that leadership is not about.

Arsene Wenger I think, would have sold him in February if he could. He simply got fed up with Henry's antics and to be fair so did teh Arsenal fans.

But that is my humble opinion and I think that Arsene needs to buy big quick and when I say big I mean a super player who, is not a narcissist and it does not even need to be a striker. But I am not Arsene Wenger and he knows his job better so I will leave that bit to him.

All I can say is good Luck and thanks again, Titi. Just leave the lights on...

The obsession with Arsenal

So is the media really obsessed with Arsenal? I mean when we had Vieira he was leaving every minute and now that he is gone Henry is leaving everytime.

I mean there is not much to read from Henry's comments. He was making comments which I am not sure he should be making as captain of the club, especially one with so many kids in it. It unsettles a lot of people but then again if he came out and said that the twist was not correct then he would have many dogs barking to kick.

So I say like Gallas says, if he wants to bugger off then by all means let him fuck off.

If not then the Arsenal haters viz a viz idiots like Marca and their lot need to fuck off

The silly season

I suppose I have to say who I think Arsene should be buying even though I am he couldn't care less what my opinion was.

Personally I think he needs to get a coach. Because whichever player comes to Arsenal will be taught the Arsenal way which is to do everything but score. So a coach who teaches players to finish would be in order. Van Persie is a direct player who showed that he can finish quite effectively, gracefully, cleverly and all we need is someone to teach the lot that is up front how to do it more often than they try to pass.

If I have to think playing staff I am not sure anything other than a super-talent would add anything to Arsenal. Eto'o? He is a problem child and having two players upfront going to the Africa Cup of Nations every two years is a headache. It's bad enough that we have the Ivory Coast boys going and by the looks of their qualifying group they are on their way there. But having said that I would say that he would be interesting.

Anelka? I don't know. Will Arsene forgive him. I know the fans will if the boss does but I am not sure. He is class but is he worth the hassle, at 28?

After the dust settles

So the Italian gangster was back at it again, engaging in his 'legitimate' business at the Olympic Stadium in Athens. He didn't score but he gave every opportunity for the nancy dancers to get about their thing. He did meet some South American heavy hired by Liverpool Soccerball Club but it was down to an old timer what they call an OG in hip hop by the name of Pipo or Filipo(Phil to his mates) Inzaghi.

So Ancelotti made Rafa an offer he couldn't refuse. It was the cup or the cup. I think Rafa got a bit scared. He played the wrong team. He just didnt know what he wanted to do. He just had 11 guys out there running into each other. Pennant carried his reluctance to shoot over from Arsenal, Zenden just has no idea how to play footie anymore since Van Gaal anyway and Steven Gerrad needs a better team and better gaffer.

The right team won, and that is the truth.

So the rags are doing the rounds about our young spaniard Cesc doing a runner. Now I am not a fan of Robert Gabriel Mugabe and I am sure there are very few who are. But this kinda shows how out of touch with Zimbabwe and Zimbabweans the rest of the world is.

First and foremost Mr Howard has in this gross aberration made the poor assumption that Mugabe cares about Zimbabwe cricket. And that he will use the tour of the Aussies as a trump card. Now has he ever done that? In effect it has been many years since the government has even bothered to meet with a touring side.

Secondly, given that inflation is about 40010007% right now I am sure that it wouldnt figure as a priority. The only people who actually care that the tour has been interfered with are the kids and the public at large who would have really liked to watch the world champions. They are the real losers here.

And let's not for a moment talk tripe about what Mugabe has done or hasn't done. The real issue is that Zimbabwe is a black country that interfered with white people. Just to illustrate, Pakistan's Musharaf has just gone about killing opponents of his and has a standing shoot-to-kill order at the moment targeted at anyone with views that are divergent from his. Now given that he wasnt elected and is in effect a dictator never heard anyone say that they were not touring his country. And why? Cause no white people were hurt when Musharaf took power. I mean there is a greater likelihood of finding a bomb in Colombo(Sri Lanka) or Karachi.

I am not a ZANU(PF) apologist but the truth of the matter is that the motivation behind Mr Howard's decision is his racist attitude towards the majority of Zimbabweans, treating them as if they were a third-class citizen of the world. He doesn't care about Zimbabweans. He cares about the white ones who now stay in his country but he doesnt have a minute for the black ones who suffer equally or at best as much as his white kin. This was also a direct reaction to the fact that Zimbabwe got the african vote for the UN board. And that did not make Mr Howard happy, no.

This is after all a white man's world

Henry to Barca and the butler to Real

Now the rags are at it again. They say that the drag from Barcelona fancy our narcissist. And that Gilberto has this old Italian lady who spent the season locked up in the basement making eyes at him. And they say big and odd looking Senderos is off to some place or the other. While they're at it, the striker who has only scored in about 17.39% of the matches he has featured for the Arsenal season Jeremie Aliadiere is going to be house-hunting in Middlesborough soon, he along with his glass ankle, hip, knee and the lot.

At this rate Arsenal will have sold the whole team by the time the season is over. never mind the close-season. And oh well...

I think it doesnt really matter does it? I dont think much of that Arsenal lot wants to leave the project right now. After meeting a shaven-head gangster by the name of Genarro, reported henchman of the mob, she tried to hoodwink him with little tricks but the beastly Genarro was having none of it. Everytime she did tried something he gave her a little kick.

So she went and enlisted a brit hooligan pissant by the name of Rooney who looked a bit like a member of the Shrek cast, or maybe he was the one rumoured to have failed the audition, but he was too busy whining.

So the Italian gangsters had their way and the English lads went home hoping that those other english lads(the scousers) would do something about honour.

When asked to comment the little girl cried and blamed it all on the war in Iraq.

Pressed for comment the Italian denied any knowledge of the girl and said he was a legitimate businessman. Because of lack of evidence(though the incident was witnessed by a worldwide audience), the police will not be pressing charges and a countersuit by the Italian has been dropped. He believes that the 3-0 scoreline was enough punishment and he hopes that the little girl will learn from the experience.

The Middle-East Question

And before I get a tap on my shoulder from a guy in dark glasses or or suicide bomber or even some dude with a beard living in a settlement I am not talking about that question. I am talking about the Arsenal question which has taken a gulf twist

Mihir Bose in his BBC article on the Kroenke issue says the blokes over at the Emirates thing don't want a board change cause then they think then some CIA operative will suddenly sit on the board and accuse them of being part of Al'Qaeda and then invade their country just because they have oil. Well Mihir doesnt say that actually... He just says they just want stability and that is important in football. The thing that is a tad-bit disturbing is that Mr Kroenke has not stated his intentions. Is he trying to buy Arsenal or does he simply want to invest? But like I said last week

I mean I am sitting in Zimbabwe where inflation is about errr... 369999% and I am more concerned about dealing with that than that some American is making eyes at the team and hoping to get in there and make a beat.
Talk about self-importance... quoting myself...

Henry and oh Danny boy

So having spent the whole season prancing about and sulking like a two-year old who has just been told that Santa doesnt exist and that the boogie man was really just his dad, our dearly beloved narcissist and top goal scorer of all time took some time away from admiring himself in the mirror to talk about his love for... Arsene. Yes Thierry Henry came out and said he would be staying at the Emirates (Superdome if Kroenke gets his way) until Arsene decides he would like to spend more time gardening with David Dein or join up with Sarkozy deciding the future of the french.

And Swiss knife wielding Arsenal big shot Daneil Fiszman(Fish to his mates) has said he has absolutely no interest in selling his shares and those russians he was hanging about with under the cover of darkness the other day were just mates from the old world. At least he didnt go the Condie Rice way and call them soviets.

As for Jose Mo, the Chavski bloke, he just upset a little schoolgirl the other day by calling PFA blah blah Cristiano Ronaldo a f?kn liar whose hair looks like an emaciated frogs pimpled underbelly. Something about penalties and the Mancs never getting any against them. I have to agree with Jo Mo on that one there and will add that it did not need rocket science to figure it out.... and Jo Mo was not the first to complain about it. Nonetheless the little girl was seen skating down the road and looked fine. However Cristiano Ronaldo was too upset to comment on the story when contacted.

David Dein affair and other issues

I am not a shareholder in Arsenal Holdings PLC so it doesnt really bother me. I do recognise his contribution to the club if his PR is anything to go by and since it is the general opinion then it must be credible. But does it really matter? If the board has messed about in sending him off then it is their loss isnt it? But if there was a fractured relationship with the rest of the board then the working relationship would have been dead anyway which would have been bad for the team in general.

But I dont really care do I?

I mean I am sitting in Zimbabwe where inflation is about errr... 369999% and I am more concerned about dealing with that than that some American is making eyes at the team and hoping to get in there and make a beat. Obviously with Arsenal and if someone born in Timbuktu, raised in the Tuvalu islands and got his money from boiling rocks and selling them as bread to the remnants of the maya civilisation as well as their cousins in the pigmy dominated homelands of sub-saharan africa can do the job then that is fine with me.

But that wont win me friends will it? But I put it to most Arsenal fans that we have done very well actually.

The Arsenal team at the moment is not yet version 3. Not quite there. We have a lot of new players, age aside. A lot of fans are calling for Baptista's head. After less than a season. That isnt fair is it? I mean sure he has been a tad bit disappointing but let's face it, most of the team has been, especially in front of goal. Robin van Persie aside noone has had that cutting edge that is needed from teams at this level. And he has the benefit of seasons in the premiership under his belt.

Last season we punched above our weight to be honest, in getting to the champions' league final. And this season, no fan can say that Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester, certainly in terms experience and the current continuity of their sides are ahead of us. And yet we are still in there with a chance at a top 3 finish.

To be honest I couldnt be bothered to tell Arsene Wenger who he should buy. He gets paid a lot of money to decide that by himself and I only watch Arsenal when they play the games and not when they train. I dont have the trained eye to tell between a good and great player. He clearly does and to suggest that he is losing his touch is idiotic. Rosicky, Fabregas, Denilson, Hleb, Toure, Eboue... should I go on?

Let it be known that this has been a disappointing season but that doesnt mean it is necessarily a bad one. I would like just as much as any Arsenal fan to have trophies in our locker and we did our best against a Chelsea side full of internationals with tonnes of experience in the carling cup.

Let's take a reality chejk

I finally found it, the Arsenal thing

There was the Baptism of fire of last week against Spurs, and the one a few weeks before that of Liverpool.

Then there was last night. I never could quite figure it and the only explanation for it is that we have it. That thing that all the other clubs don't have.

Did you see Denilson? 18 and playing the way he was. And he does pack quite a shot. How does Arsenal find these kids and why does it seem as if noone else is getting their hands on them. I mean gosh. They are terrifyingly talented.

And as for Fabregas, Myles Palmer got it when he said Fabregas is all things on the pitch from the general to the private. And we forget he is still 19.

But a toast to all the lads last night. They had it in them and as I always said before, Arsene knows. Now for the Millenium Stadium for a date Mourinho. The circus at Soho square is back in town.

Now I am not privy to what happened between Le Boss and the ref but I am sure it wasnt anything handbags and all that. The decision was as close to being shyte without stepping on it as you can get. And if we start saying that if a manager expresses his reservations about a decisions then we throw the book at him then where are we going to next.

If the FA should fix anything it should be the officiating which seems to be getting worse by the second. Where is the damned technology. Arsene was aggravated by something. He just doesnt go about questioning decisions. It is about time they took responsibility.

Three things we learnt against Chelsea

We already knew Arsenal could play without Thierry Henry. Flamini is one of the most underrated box to box players in the game
2. Gilberto should be Arsenal captain
3. Aren't the same ones who always keep telling Arsenal to play functional and ugly football at times? And now that we finally do that we are told that we are selling out? Funny!

We went there and we knew that a draw would take us through. And Porto knew the same. A draw for both teams and they are both through. What do you expect them to do? Have a kick-about like a bunch of larkies on a Sunday afternoon and get shafted by a weird goal from some non-descript ponce from some corner of the rat-infested hell in no particular place. We knew the score that is our mates over at Porto and err... ourselves right? CSKA was leading and we needed a draw.

Leave us alone.

My take on the Henry Story

I have been one of the few critics of Titi in the last couple of months. Myles Palmer in his Arsenal Review( www.arsenalnewsreview.co.uk ) calls it narcissism and I can't say I disagree with him.

But the reason why that has happened has been because of Arsenal. They have made the monster that is Thierry Henry. But unprecedented was the fact that Arsene will sit Thierry down to tell him what is expected of him. That is the man does not know what is expected of him. He is a bit errant.

But I do not think he cannot be cut back. I think this is the pivotal point and dropping Henry is going to make him realise that he has to put the interests of the team ahead of his own and I think him concentrating on the lads more than himself or joking about with the opposition captain is one way of doing it. When the team is out there we dont care that you are mates with blokes from the other teams. During the match you are ours and they are the enemy. We do not think you should slice them in half but show no mercy when you have the ball.

But that having been said, he is an asset. When his head is right he is the best player on the planet. Unfortunately we havent had the best of him in a while now and we keep making excuses based on his undoubted legendary status.

Arsenal Clueless without Fabregas

The first half of Arsenal versus Fulham was rubbish. And Thierry Henry should try scoring instead of passing. I am not sure who he recieved a pass from and then instead of taking a shot he wanted to sidefoot it to another player. I am sad to say the only striker who seems interested in scoring for Arsenal at the moment is Robin van Persie. The other lot just enjoy passing the buck to Flamini or something ridiculous like that.

And who do I blame? Arsene. Why? Cause they play the way he says they should play. Create chances, but forget about the bit where someone actually takes the chance. Sure bad luck has played its part and we have been on the end of some really dubious decisions but that having been said we really should ride above all that.

Another thing is Arsenal have no idea how to play without their quarterback, Fabregas. They know how to do without Henry - never thought I would see the day when I said that - but they dont know what to do with a missing or tired Fabregas. And I am not sure they want to know....

Maybe Arsenal need to practice shooting

I dont think there is a team that creates as many chances as Arsenal in the Premiership. So much so I think if we got one player who had the slightest interest in scoring we would be sending many teams down. But alas we create the chances and we are left wondering about what cvould have been.

Arsene blames it on naivety but in all fairness Arsenal have been guilty of the self same thing for a while now. Sometimes you just need to score said Thierry Henry. So why dont you just score mate? Entertainment is all very well but being so far behind the chavs and the mancs is isnt fun either. I know they will get it but hopefully we wont be too far behind to make a difference.

On yesterday's peformances two players did particularly well for me. Hleb and Flamini. Flamini worked in that role tirelessly in the middle and Hleb is becoming a real threat almost everytime we play. Now you simply cant leave him out...

Congratulations fto Robinson on the England win... I agree with Arsene Wenger it is pathetic when a team comes to set up shop and have absolutley no interest in winning the match by actually playing football. Negative football is awful. Credit to Arsenal who refused to be beaten.

As for Robin Van Persie, he is realvly coming to the party now. I have always thought he was more dangerous from the setpiece than our esteemed Henry. Dont get me wrong, Thierry is a demi-god but RvP has a left foot that redefines the word dangerous.

So Rooney scores and the press reckon he is the greatest thing since they invented football. Rubbish

I am interested in tomorrow's Barca v Chelsea. Chavski weren;'t that hot on Saturday while Ronnie was interested to say the least.

But as for Arsenal, Moscow visiting should be peeing in theur pants now...

Fabregas and his lot

We know the boy has signed a new 8-year contract. That is almost unheard of these days with the likes of Cashley Cow in the business. Now that is commitment. And did you see him picking off Reading for fun? Chelsea were given the run-around by this lot last week but what a masterclass. The short-passing at the edge of the box. Oh my.

Henry watch out mate, we have a new favourite and he is the king now.

But the best defender, centre at the moment has to be Kolo Toure. Mind you I was preparing for my O Level exams at the time and let's face it, the Arsenal were not setting the stage alight so who would blame them for signing some French fella. I joked that maybe they figured they needed someone with a name as close to Arsenal as possible. Little did I know the effect he would have on the team.

I am not sure there is anything I can say that hasnt been already said in the last week or two about the impact he has had on Arsenal, english, european and dare I say world football. One qualify world football on the basis of how many teams actually want to do things the Arsenal way. And it is all encapsulated in one man, Arsene Wenger. Even here in Zimbabwe you have teams trying to model themselves on the Arsenal system, on and off the pitch and it reaps rewards for them, the national coach is a brilliant example of that.

Personally, I am humbled. I can not point out one moment of magic from the Arsenal team, but a whole catalogue of them. He speaks of playing the right way and by golly have they played. The different versions of Arsenal have come and gone and they have all delighted. All easy on the eye. And the current one promises not to disappoint.

So to the man I say thank you very much...

Oh they just went for a walk at Old Trafford

Oh Arsenal, what a beautiful thing that was. I just had a feeling we had the right hunger coupled with things falling into place... The whole side, Oh my did they have a work rate or what. Cashley Cow had something to say about the team's lack of commitment in the little rag he calls a book. Err mate even Jose Reyes said there was nothing wrong with spirit and he is the biggest sulker since Le Sulk aka Nic Anelka.

Did you see the way they fought, Rosicky, Adebayor, Hleb, Ljunberg, and of course the amazing Fabregas. But I have said enough of him... How about Toure mate? I mean he was a warrior extraodinaire. He went in for the last ditch tackles, and even when he looked in pain he was fighting like cor... It felt so good... Rooney was kept out of it. that is how good that match was...

Rooney looked out of sorts. He said that we lacked ambition and that the team he was joining would giv him a better chance o winning the Champions' League. The Arsenal kids came to the party last night and Cesc, the wonder kid I have been raving about was finally enthroned firmly as the king, quarterback not pretender to the Arsenal cause. We know Dennis is the god, Henry the demi-god and Cesc now is enthroned as the king. I remember the first time I saw him, at the age-group championships and I could scarcely believe how good he actually was and I quietly hoped he would come to Arsenal. And he did.

But if there ever was a player who deserved to become the next leader of Arsenal this is it. He is a leader in the fashion of the American Football quarterbacks. He directs a midfield through play. Now he is still only 18 so perhaps he is a bit too young to impose himself on players. But this is not only a highly skilled but highly motivated player. A lot of people will talk up Rooney or Messi who both are very very special players but you have to put Fabregas in that category. His leadership qualities in an offensive play are exceptional. Of course it would be helped if Thierry Henry led the line but he is putting in a special effort.

The disappointment for me has been Thierry. Now I am a fan of the great man as much as the next person but he has let the team down this term. I remember watching an Andriy Schvchenko interview on ESPN's Soccernet Press Pass in which he said that in a team where the players are not so good the great player in them has to do more and carry on more responsibility for the team. Now I am not in way attacking the effort of Henry but I am doubting it. Can we honestly say that he has taken on more responsibility especially in a leadership capacity? I dont think so.

Today is the last day on which I have unlimited internet access so I am going to be quite irregular not that I have been regular. A new chapter has opened

Sport junkie

So today they cut off my line. They allowed a pitch to deteriorate to sub-standard levels, then they don't allow Barcelona to play on the pitch. Which if you have to be perfectly honest was pretty daft given that the likes of Ronaldinho, Messi, Eto'o and Deco honed their footballing skills on pitches worse than the one they gave to the catalans. Man for man, it is no competition on a skill level. While Chelsea can get away with bullying the likes of Colchester and Liverpool they can't do the same with knights of Catalunya.

Now I am not a big fan of red cards but if you carry on the way that bloke Del Horno had been last night the ref has to do something to protect the players. People will say the lad looked up and engaged a wee-bit of gamesmanship but let's suppose he had stayed down and let the chelsea left back clatter into him with his knee probably to the ribs. Del Horno had gotten away with more than his fair share of bad tackle, remember when he raked his studs into the young Messi's leg. Noone in my opinion put this case quite as quaintly as Henry Winter for the Daily Telegraph

Already desperately fortunate to have escaped sanction for one disgraceful follow-through on Messi, Del Horno finally lost it. Like a fire engine arriving too late to douse an inferno, Del Horno was a picture of frustration as he flew in on his nemesis. With a blatant bodycheck, he caught Messi hard and high, sending the Barcelona No 30 thudding to the floor, ripping Frank Rijkaard from his dug-out seat and ensuring every outfield player charged to the crime scene.

Chelsea were incensed as the referee, Terje Hauge, raised a red card with all the seriousness of a High Court judge handing down a life sentence. Chelsea claimed, in vain, that their left-back was guilty more of stupidity than malice but the departing Spaniard had been playing a risky game for a while

Perhaps the Chelsea jaggernaut is beginning to feel the strain. Perhaps the special one is not so special and noone is surprised really that he is complaining. They may have the strongest squad out there and the dirtiest tricks about but lkast night proved that at the end of the day, football will always win. And to that I say aye...

And even I didnt give them a chance

Arsenal went into last night's match on the bakc of a very poor run. I didnt think they could pull it off. I just thought well if they keep it down it one goal in it and get an away goal then they could make a fight of it at Highbury.
I mean who wasn't good last night at the Bernabeu in the Arsenal colours. I guess in short if asked to play football there are very few teams that can match the Arsenal including the famous Meringues. Real let's face it were not given a chance to play and how does a team play without a right back? Yes you say Cicinho but how many times did you even see him at the right back position. In fact he was anywhere but at right back. He was floating in, going to the left, up front and you wionder why they can't defend.

Look at the ages last night on the pitch

Manu Eboue, 22, Kolo Toure, 24, Philippe Senderos, 20, Mathieu Flamini, 21, Aleksandr Hleb, 24, Alexander Song, 18, Abou Diaby, 19, and Fabregas, 18.

They said the results in the group stage were against teams of no real pedigree. But Arsene has done it against the 9 time winners of the competition who have been on a bit of a run. I hope it convinces Thierry to stay now because the kids were fabulous and the older players put their weight about. Did you see the way Freddie was everywhere. He fought like a gunner should. To be fair he has been fighting that hard this whole season without scoring but that is partly down to the fact that in attack noone is making the runs up front. And my did we need Reyes last night and he made a mockery of Cicinho's next-cafu tag.

Yes it is just one leg and they could come and stuff us at Highbury but for now I will enjoy it.

Amazing how i was doing calculations today, if I gave someone 100,000 Zimbabwe Dollars a year ago, to lend him the equivalent today I would need to give him 1,5 million Zimbabwe Dollars. Sure they will want to tell you that inflation is 600% but that is for someone sitting in a statistical office being asked to fudge figures so as not to make it look that bad. It is stunning that the value of life in this country has gone south like that. Almost depressing, who am i kidding it is depressing.

Another week gone

Sometimes you just wonder where life is going? Anotehr week just went by and how many of us notice anymore. I mean life has no milestones now. You just wake up one day and you realise that it is possible you may be classified as old now. Is it just a denial, refusing to accept that one is no longer a youngster that one is old now? Now they are losing because he is there? Make up your minds. Gilberto's game has not changed since he came, and he played the role he is playing right now that he plays with Brazil and the role that made him such a commodity after the world cup. Gilberto is not a tackler. When he tackles he misses and loses his position and Arsenal are exposed. He is a player who picks his positions very well and that is his strength. What did you expect? That he would suddenly become the enforcer he has never been? Arsenal played a unique style of football because they had a unique midfielder in Vieira. He is a one-off and anyone compared to him is a knock-off. He was a player who could take the ball off a centre back with three players hounding him and find his way out. That is the missing thread in the Arsenal play. So now that they do not have him Arsenal have to learn to play different.
Some peopel say the long ball is a plan B but it looks like the only plan nowadays. It just doesnt seem as if they can play the ball on the ground anymore and I put that down to Thierry Henry. Anyone who criticizes the great man has to be brave and I will put my hand up for that. He doesnt make runs, he doesn't beat players, he is neither another dimension to the Arsenal play nor is he part of it anymore. Now I am not saying drop him but could someone make him watch those first 100 Arsenal goals. They are available on DVD and this could remind him of what he could do. There were many times a Ljungberg would be running at defence and suddenly have noone to pass it to.
Having said that, playing without a recognised left back for two months is a big ask and without 8 defensive players for 6 weeks is a bit much. It is not an excuse but I am not sure many clubs can cope with that sort of thing.

But having said that I am not really worried. After all, Arsene knows.

Paddy's noise again and realisation

News of the World(TM) has a story from Patrick Vieira running off at the mouth again about how Thierry might still leave. He says that he had private conversations with the TH14 in which the skipper says he doesnt know. Now if I am having private conversations with someone I dont expect them to sell them on for money. So I would be worried about being friends with Paddy I say.
But that is besides the point. I think it is a bit off the way this story is going on and on and I am now ready to have him just say I am leaving, thank you very much. And it is having an effect on the squad. I mean the squad loses direction if they can't feel the skipper isn't on the same page as them and you can see in the play. Before the ball was always aimed in Thierry's direction and he was the focal point of attack and the team benefited that way. But now the team is relying more on the options. This may not be intentional but I think some of the lads have sort of given up on Titi. They are just going about it all without him. I wouldn't begrudge him if he lef6t today because he has done so much for Arsenal and the premiership. But look at the knock-on effect uncertainty had on the team with the whole vieira thing.

Just came to a realisatioin this weekend that when I dont call people they don't call me. Then in come one of the top four teams in the country and they offer you a contract to come and play with the most exciting striker in the history of the premiership. What do you do? Well if Rupert Lowe had his way then young Theo should have said, sorry mates, I want to stay in this dump for another two years and then give me a call then. Now in another two years Theo might not be so hot and because he plays with odd-jobbers he might be only good enough for that level. But if he goes to a team with greater concentration and expectation, in those two years he could become super-human. Add to that too that Arsenal have been very decent about this. They knew Theo wanted to come over and they still offered Southampton a fee for the boy. A huge one for a 16-year old. They could have waited till the boy was 17 in March and then offered him a contract and went to tribunal and given Southampton a mil and told them to fuck off. But Rupert is harping on about this and that and who cares what?

The NFL has come out and said that the refereeing in the Superbowl was brilliant. Now if that is true then I think they were using different rules. I mean Big Ben says he didnt cross the line into the end zone and he got the call. There were calls that cost 21 points and if it wasnt for those the Seahawks could have run away with this. The NFL have been poor with this. They should have been talking about how to make the officiating better and not treat the system as if they are a bunch of errant school kids.

It is friday and my life gets more confusing. Women telling me that I am sending signals and I have no idea what it is. Now I am feeling self-conscious and all that rubbish. And not only will this kid be strength in the mid he will score more goals than Paddy. I am genuinely excited about this lad after three matches. He has the tenacity, awarenessand guile. And he is 19 which means he can only improve from now on. Arsene Wenger says he is amzed at how quckly he has adapted and most of us share the same sentiments. He is becoming difficult to leave out of the team after so few games and the style that Arsenal like to play seems to be coming back a bit because they have that fight and that drive in mid. Obviously you can't get a new paddy cause he is a one-off but these are promising times for the Arsenal faithful.
And as for Adebayor, he adds a bit of guile as well as steel, a stronger, faster kanu so to speak.

Interesting weekend and the superbowl was a disappointment. Was Big Ben's touchdown the correct decision? What about the personal foul on Hasselbeck? And the touchdown disallowed early oin for the Seahawks.

Caught in the middle of life

Suddenly Arsene Wenger fancies a few lads and wham poof bash he has rthree signings and if Theo Walcott has his way that is three signings. And he proved me right by making to very important points, that he wantede to lead the team into the new stadium and more importantly was staying to build the team into one of the strongest in Europe.

Obviously he heard something he liked from the gaffer otherwise he wouldnt have bothered. And most importantly he sees something in these kids and the tone of his post-match conferences and media releases seem to show he has confidence in the lads and that he believes they wull grow up very quickly. He should be live they will be ready soon otherwise at his age he might have felt he would run out of time before they were ripe.

Perhaps this could be the turn-around point of Arsenal's season because you began to get the feeling that the team was not sure of the leader of the team. They were too afraid to commit because they feared their skipper might be looking elsewhere. And this statement should mean there will be no more distractions and the team will start moving forward.

RvP meanwhile has signed a new deal that will keep him with the club until at least 2011.

And it finally happened

Jose Antonio Reyes was the best Arsenal player on show at Charlton. He harried, tried and he scored. His confidence is coming back now.
For the first time since I can be bothered to remember, Thierry had something good to say about Reyes. We have heard him say all manner of things about RvP11 and seemingly clueless Quincy. But he has never yp my recollection gone on record praising JAR9.

Depending on which rag you read he said

"Jose deserved the goal because he worked a lot. Not only him but I want to talk about him specially because we need him to do this kind of performance for us. This was magnificent."

I said it when he came to the Arsenal, that the spaniard was a warrior, he has pace, guile, grit and determination. He gets knocked down and he keeps coming back. He is a fighter who has never been given anything for free in life and I am pretty sure that he will be a great player for the Arsenal. He just needs someone to say publicly from time to time that he has done well. Thierry is the skipper, not my ideal candidate for the job but he is that and he should pass more comments of that sort to boost very talented players' confidences. He knows the players in the team are of genuine prime breed. And that they will form the nucleus of a very very strong team. And they need a leader who will carry them into that. He is a fighter, a warrior, a gladiator.
Arsenal need an enforcer in midfielder and Gilberto clearly isn't it. I was watching Thierry Henry's 100 goal DVD this weekend and I picked one assist Vieira made for TH14. In one fell swoop he made a tackle, got up and passed the ball. I do not think there are many players in world football who can do that. And that is what Arsenal's football has been built on. Arsene needs to come up with a new plan or find a hardman. I liked the look of Song against Thun. Maybe give him a chance before you buy someone else. Or even the Muamba kid the Highbury lot are raving about. Gilberto is brilliant at sweeping although he lost the ball too often against Bolton. In fairness most of the team didnt do themselves much credit.
It's Ajax this week and I expect Arsenal to win the match. I think the champions league is a big chance this season. The team has a focus on the continent which they cannot replicate on the domestic front. It is usually the other way round.

Good to see Peter Crouch score this weekend. It was all becoming a bit too farcical.

The kids, those kids

Thierry Henry believes that Arsenal have found the perfect goalscoring machine in Arturo Lupoli, saying he will score bags at any ground anywhere. He is also gushing over the talents of Robin Van Persie. And how about Cesc Fabregas. Someone seriously needs to check the age certificate fgor that boy. He is simply majestic. He midfield genius, and he is 18. Yes he is 18.
But for me the king in waiting is RvP11. I said last season that he would turn out to be better than Arjen Robben I was laughed out of town. Robben is a winger with a few tricks. RvP11 is four-dimensional football genius who plays the game like a symphony. Note I said four dimensional. His goal against Blackburn cutely illustrates this. It is the 92nd minute and he is on the touch line and everyone is expecting him to run the ball into the corner. But not this young pretender to the number 10 jersey. He slips the ball between Savage and Gray, the former catching him with a cynical kick and he keeps going. Single-minded, directional, he is going to score and from the most frightening of angles curls the ball round the keeper hits the post and Highbury goes mad as the ball finds its way in. Go back to a few weeks ago when he did the pirouette round if i am not mistaken, a thun defender and runs the ball at goal and blasts it past the keeper.
He is like Dennis Bergkamp but with a bit more bite and a lot more interested in the goal than just the creation of it.

I like the way Thierry is really talking the kids up. It gives them confidence to perform. And my are they coming to the party or what? Thierry's leadership is coming to the fore now.

A weekend without the premiership

When it is around we take it for granted. This weekend was completely devoid of the premiership, what with the internationals taking centre stage. And oh my did you see the England spine suddenly come to life against the Argies. That partnership of Owen and Rooney is beginning to look scary I say and I dare say England have a big chance to take it this time.
Why did Brazil play UAE this weekend I ask. The money? I mean in all fairness who in world football are the UAE. They really did themselves a disservice when they could have chosen from a whole catalogue of choiciest sides in football as part of their preparation for the real thing. 1-0 at half-time and 8-0 at the end. Do you even break a sweat for that sort of thing?
So what did i do with my weekend. Well I caught up on my movie watching on The Classic Movie Channel, treating myself to stellar performances from the likes of Cary Grant and Humphrey Bogart. Now that is entertainment. You watch a lot of today's stuff, the actors are often flattered by the special effects and the sort such that the characters lose their intensity. If directors worked mnore on the characters than the story then the intimacy and classic nature of trhe movies would be attained.
I also got a chance to watch Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. A brilliant comedy, a thinking man's view of the world and I will surely be hunting the book down. Very entertaining in a decidedly english manner. And kudos to Mos Def for his performance in the picture.

Not much else

Like I called it

Man United is a team that revels in breaking long runs. Jose needs to grow up and Arsene, well he just done him in like a naughty school boy hasnt he? Maybe there is something going on at the Chavs because suddenly they are drawing and losing as well. Way-to-go Betis.

Arsene did bring up one very good point, this business of some foreigner taking over a club and then changing the team into a continental lot which the locale cannot identify with in terms of values and connection of the club to the community. I just think that the locals should own the club since the reality is that they are there for the community and not for some profiteering bl0ke. The bubble will burst soon. I know people who are already switching off and going to watch Accrington Stanley than the premiership because the fundamentals are there.

So had a tete-a-tete with the special young lady today and she said some formidable things.

The Penalty farce

I am going to play devil's advocate here, and DEFEND the penalty incident involving Pires and Henry over the weekend. Let's suppose for the sake of posterity that goal had gone in after the tap in and all. How many columns would there have been written about the innovation of Thierry and Robert. After all the accolades of the week, how special a player Thierry Henry is and the like this would have taken the ratings through the roof. Think of when he chipped the keeper two seasons ago, we all said kudos to that and the scoreline if my memory serves me right was not dissimilar.

Lest we forget, football is first and foremost entertainment. Perhaps we seem to think more of it than just that. It is a sport, played in good spirits and is not business to us the viewers.

And, guess what, it has given you something to tal about.

Thierry-fic

It did not seem, quite as inevitable when he smacked in his first against Southampton perhaps as it has in the last two seasons. Thierry Henry finally got the record and my did he get it or what. A special player indeed, not a just a scorer of many goals but of many beautiful goals. Take Thierry Henry away from the premiership's history and I am sure you will be hard-pressed to find anyone who has epitomised the entertainment value of the package. But then again one could argue that Arsene Wenger could have found one to capture the imagination of not just the Highbury faithful but the football standard.

I remember the first time I saw him, it was at the World Cup in 1998. I have to admit that I knew very little about french football, bar the omission of Nicolas Anelka from the final french selection and of course Patrick Vieira and Manu Petit. He had pace, imagination but his contribution was largely overshadowed by the mercurial Zinedine Zidane, who was simply larger than life. But I did not fail to note that he was the top goal scorer at that tournament. And next thing he was off to Juve.

We lost Anelka the following season and this winger as i had seen him was introduced to Highbury. I didnt really think he was that bad a goal scorer to be honest after all, his three goals had helped France get through to the final of the '98 WC which they eventually won. But when he skyed every other delivery, one kept wondering. But I am one of the school that had grown to believe in the nous of Arsene Wenger and was sure that the gaffer could see something in this lad. Then it happened against Southampton, a pass from Tony Adams, back to a defender, held him off, lost his balance and curled one in. It was what was to become the hallmark of Thierry Henry, not simply to score but to score in a manner we all would remember. After failing to get a goal in virtually half the season, the second proved the quality assured upon him as he banged in 26 goals.

From then on the 20+ contributions became regular, most with skill, guile, tenacity, arrogance. A special player, a genius, an entertainer, artist extraordinaire. The sort of player where when he got the ball, our concentration, was immediately altered up a notch and a half more than we would for others. And more often than not he did what we would not have dared not only to do, but to imagine as well. And none the one that equalled with Wrighty was certainly up there among his many goals of pure imagination. Recieving a long pass, controlling it with one touch, a pirouette and then with the outside of the right boot, curling it into the net...

Now that's entertainment!

Can't believe it really

Svennis had the testicular fortitude to drop one of his golden boys for a change. Houllier would not have sold Murphy or Owen. Houllier would nerver play 4-2-3-1 in the premiership. Noone does that because the premiership is not a technical league. Even the special one is not technical in the league which is why liverpool will not a get a champions league slot this season. Already 17 points behind and the gap will get bigger and i just dont see where they are guaranteed to get their next win. Why play Garcia out wide? And ask Wigan, chelsea dont like teams that run at them hard and fast through the middle. Benitez's side are not clever, they never will be. They dont have a mista but they could have done with cisse through the middle.

The only thing that this shows is that maybe Rafa is not a premirship coach. Which makes me think maybe Martin O'neill at the end of this season until Rafa gets his act together.

As for Arsenal, I would like to see Reyes play up top more and see what he can do. he is not afraid to make the shot and one of these days he is going top start scoring more of them. The art of shot-making is dying because everyone is trying to lay it for a tap-in. It just makes it all one-dimensional to be honest.

Henry says he is not discussing a contract till the end of the season. If he wants to go send him away. Thank him for his contribution but you get the feeling that this Arsenal team is gelling and coming good.

Just in case u dont know...

I quit my job

What a day

It is a few days till I leave
I am reading a lot of material that is supposd to help me go places.

My music must touch souls, I am desperate for that> I dont want to be just a producer, I want to be a musician and be really good at it.

The weather is interesting. He is poking them in for fun he is. And my oh my I was watching Wolves V QPR last night and betcha by golly wow, the wolves team are rather impressive arent they. Hoddle's doing a fantastic job. September is my last month at work and going into the big wide world to see how it goes there.

So pray pray for my downfall if you like but I am going to make it.

Amusing, I think not

So Arsenal smashed four past poor Fulham yesterday not that the game reflected the scoreline to be honest. And Thierry predictably got closer to that Wrighty mark which is brilliant I think. I mean in such a short time and all. Good stuff Titi. And what about Cygan with that brace... Nuff sed.
It's twiddling thumbs time now. There has been rain at the ashes and judging from the commentary, that Shaun Tait has got some terrifying speeds. Can't wait to have a look at him.

Amazing how the price of everything here just seems to be going up the way it is. Not at all. I just wasnt in the office.
About Arsenal, they lost because Henry is too friendly with the chelsea lot. The rest of the team wanted to kill Chelsea but Henry was too busy being nice. A professional means you can put aside your friendship for 90 minutes and play for the fans. Play for the colour of your shirt and that sort of thing. Henry just wasnt up to it to be honest and that the reason Arsenal lost. 11 lions and pussycat. Henry just inst confident against that lot.
Well just seen me bill and yikes. And we're already at the Chavski match. Sunday camnty come soon enough.
David Dein says that Arsene is Arsenal best signing ever. Of course he is because without him we would not have come this far at all and scoring 117 goals in a season and having the premiership's player over the past couple of seasons in the side. I shudder to think of the day when he leaves. And unselfish he is. Setting up a team which he might not use to the full. Maybe we need to get that former Lyon chap over when Arsene leaves but not anytime soon. Or bring him as assistant gaffer because poor Pat is getting a bit stale now. Dont really know.
As for this weekend, I think Arsene will win game 500.
About Carvallho, i think it is a hoax. trying to make people think the harmony is lost at the Chavs.
But if it is real, cor...

I am off for the weekend, I hope it is a good one. I have two songs up now and the third one will be up tomorrow.

Was just listening to my first album a few minutes ago and I have to say that I have come a fair bit from what I used to produce. I think I have stayed faithful to the style and am now defining my own movement but am now inspired to do another dance album after 'The Project'. I think I have pretty much run out of nails now with the way that match panned out. Who is writing these ashes scripts. Oh the agony of getting so near, just one wicket, just that one wicket and it is advantage England going into Trentbridge.
Oh but you have to give it to Ricky Ponting. He saved it for the Aussies he did. I mean that was some special knock. Like Steve Waugh this was Ponting's graduation as test captain. It wasn't just that he got the 156, but he was there when the team needed it most. Succumbing late on but he had done enough and you have to say that is what gave McGrath and Lee the inspiration to see out the last 24 balls.
Oh what a series this is. This is slowing putting my faith back into sports. I mean a lot of sports were becoming too predictable and doggedly one-sided. No thrills, just nothing for the fans. The richies would just get who they wanted and knock everyone off. But this ashes series is reminding us all of what sport is all about, the passion and the competition which is so necessary.

I think today is one of those days again that falls like a damp squib. Nothing happening, nothing not happening, just another day in the life.
Am working on uploading music onto my site so if you would like to have a peek www.soundclick.com/ncb and read the profile, listen to the music and join the mailing list... and don't forget to vote for my music.

Ciao

Another week, the prem is here

I am impressed by the way Wigan Athletic played yesterday. They should have tests as four dayers and then have the fifth as an optional day if there is any loss of time due to an inclement in weather.
Safe speed, back to work now and it sucks.

Still we mourn

The days seem longer
Our bond gets stronger
The discipleship of love
The way we were when sent from above
Clinging to our sorrow
The only thing that takes us till tomorrow
When we realise what you death really means
Our humany snatched by fiends
A testament you are to the struggle that we're in
We fight in your corner from wretched sin
That envelopes from the hate
And diminishes that qualities that make our peopel great
Peace and respect to your memory and those who loved you
Anthony we'll hold down justice is when it's through.

Mour moaning about the fixture list, Kenyon saying we're hypocrites, that other american bloke they have calling us disgraceful over the ash affair, Kenyon saying they will win it before kicking the ball, Terry claiming we will struggle without the departed Vieira, the janitor claiming we stole the mascot, and the missing mascot asking to defect to our lot. Goodness me, dont Chavski have anything better to do than look over the fence and wonder. If they think they are the best why bother with the rest? If you're the best you dont have to say it do you? Unless you have some inferiority complex.

Oh gosh. What's that? Fergie also in on it?
